Project Assistant

These positions will function as the I-81Section Heads for Design, Structures, or Construction, or as the I-81 Risk Management Quality Assurance Coordinator. Duties include, but are not limited to:
o Design Section Head - Responsible for developing/reviewing project designs. Making sure all design elements follow federal and state codes. Manage design engineers during the design phases along with overseeing design issues during procurement of Design-Build projects. Provide design support during all phases of construction. o Structures Section Head - Responsible for developing/reviewing structural designs for all structural elements, to include bridges, culvert, walls, overhead sign structures, etc. Manage structural engineers during the design phases along with overseeing design issues during procurement of Design-Build projects. Provide structural design support during all phases of construction to include removal of existing structural elements. o Construction Section Heads - Responsible for managing multiple construction contractors/subcontractors for either DB or DBB project contracts. Ensure quality projects conforming to plans and specifications. Monitor schedules making sure to meet project dates. Oversee project payments and any change orders that may arise. One section head will be experienced in Design Build and the other in Design Bid Build. o All Section Heads meet regularly with designers, contractors, and other consultant staff to monitor and coordinate all design aspects during all phases of projects and provide updates to Project Directors. o All Section Heads to manage state & consultant staff for projects.

Salary Range:
From $95908 to $118129 Annually
Minimum Qualification
These positions will be filled by temporary appointment, without examination, via Section 64.3 of Civil Service Law. Candidates must have a valid New York State Professional Engineer's License with current registration and at least 1 year of post-licensure civil engineering experience with transportation projects related to highways/roadways, railroads, bridges, airports, waterways, building structures, or traffic management and safety systems.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
