Investigative Specialist 3 Professional Conduct - 59804

Under general supervision, the position is responsible for the supervision and oversight of investigations of professional medical misconduct including oversight of operations and caseloads. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Manage subordinate supervisory positions in the administrative and technical supervision of assigned investigations in Investigative Offices. 2. Direct daily management and oversight of investigations, supervise the assignment of investigations, ensure compliance with governing laws, regulations and policies and implementation of the Professional Medical Conduct Manual of Investigative Operations. 3. Perform quarterly case reviews of all investigations within assigned regions to ensure timely and accurate progress, effective investigation strategies, engage appropriate professional resources such as legal assistance, medical expert review, and/or referrals to outside stakeholders such as local law enforcement or other monitoring entities. Ensure program goals and productivity standards are met. 4. Evaluate staff performance, case productivity and utilization of staff resources. Ensure the Statewide Investigations Information Management System is completely utilized throughout the investigation process and accurately portrays all investigative steps and timelines for each case with associate documentation. Implement appropriate training to maintain high performance levels with assigned staff. 5. Participate in statewide meetings and Investigation Committee meetings. May also participate in regular meetings with legal staff to prepare for the prosecution of cases and participate in providing supplementary information in negotiating consent agreements. 6. Review all investigation reports for accuracy and completeness and make recommendations for improvements as appropriate. Forward completed reports with a disposition recommendation to the Director of Investigations of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct. 7. Provide written responses to Director of Investigations of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct to inquiries related to executive correspondence, or the public affairs group related to cases under the supervision of the position.

Salary Range:
From $81446 to $102661 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Permanent Transfer Candidates:
Current NYS employee with permanent status as an Investigative Specialist 2 (Professional Conduct), or Supervising Medical Conduct Investigator, G-23, and deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Provisional Promotion:
Department of Health (DOH) employee with one year or more permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as an Investigative Specialist 2 (Professional Conduct), G-23. Preferred
Qualifications:
Strong computer skills, including experience using databases Demonstrated ability to interpret written communications Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills Strong supervisory and management skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
