Assistant Engineer (Civil/Construction)

Duties include but may not be limited to:
o Supervise and inspect building construction projects of moderate size and complexity. o Coordinate the operations of contractors and ensure conformity of work to contract estimates, specifications, standards and construction practices. o Assist higher level staff on larger projects. o Recommend and prepare contract change orders. o May supervise consultant work. o Some travel required.

Salary Range:
From $62726 to $79577 Annually
Minimum Qualification
STATE EMPLOYEES Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as an Assistant Engineer (Civil/Construction); OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a salary grade 20 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 as appropriate of the Civil Service Law. Proof of passing the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) exam is required. OR GENERAL PUBLIC Individuals with current 55b/c status who meet with qualifications below are encouraged to apply. You will need to supply a copy of your eligibility letter when responding to this announcement. Candidates must have current 55b/c eligibility AND meet the following minimum qualifications Successful completion of a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination; or successful completion of 52 weeks of service as an Engineer Trainee and a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
