Supervisor/CNC Designer

Eaton's Crouse-Hinds is currently seeking a Supervisor/CNC Designer to join our team.
This position is based at our Syracuse, NY facility.
Position Overview:
The Supervisor/CNC Designer will provide leadership and direction for a work group within the plant as well as be accountable to design and implement tool layouts for all NC-CNC departments, in support if continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes in optimizing productivity.
Candidate will be responsible for performance with respect to safety, environment, quality, on time delivery, and cost for their respective area.
They are to be the first-line contact between production employees and management staff while simultaneously representing the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor.

In this function you will:
Conduct Daily Team stand-up meeting with all department personnel in area of responsibility focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost/productivity, and inventory.
Design and implement tool layouts for all NC-CNC Department Programs; prepare, implement and optimize programs for all including interpreting and clarifying unusual features as needed to group lead and operators.
Enforce and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on attendance, behavior, performance issues and initiate disciplinary actions as required.
Provide training in relevant tools, techniques, processes, etc.
with an eye toward improving the productivity.
Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.
Provide technical assistance to solve manufacturing and machining problems, relative to the proper use of tooling.
Utilize lean six sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs, inventory and lead-times as well as ensure alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies Assist in designing new tooling and/or special machinery which will provide for the economical production of Eaton Crouse-Hinds products.
Assist in designing new tooling and/or special machinery which will provide for the economical production of Eaton Crouse-Hinds products as well a redesign existing tooling, update tool drawings, and revise records, as required by changes in manufacturing processes.
In addition design all types of tooling, including jigs, fixtures, gauges, dies, cutting tools, special machines, machine accessories, machine attachments and/or other devices.
Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardize work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented where necessary.
Additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD/CAM.
No relocation benefit will be provided.
All candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Syracuse, NY.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope and complexity in a manufacturing environment.
SAP business system experience.
Salary:
$16.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
