Construction Project Manager

Akkodis is seeking a Construction Project Manager for a Contract position with a client located in Syracuse, NY.
Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the Construction/Utility industry and a PMP certification comes as a big plus.

Job Description:
Support Construction Schedule Management.
Ensure projects are ready to be scheduled.
Work with adjacent business units to remove any obstacles in scheduling or executing projects in work plans.
Ensure project closeout processes and procedures are followed in a timely fashion.
Vendor Management.
Assure positive working relationships with contractors.
Working with contract specialists to ensure contract compliance, provide feedback, and/or participate in performance reviews.
Material Management.
Work with procurement to ensure materials are adequately forecasted and ordered to be ready for project initiation through completion.
Active communication, including participation in formal meetings at regular intervals with contractors and internal National Grid Stakeholders.
Effectively communicate plans, issues, and praise for the efficient completion of program projects under the annual work plan.
Storm Support.
Support weather-related incidents, including storm crew assignments, crew transfer sheets, and other support functions as needed.
Actively participate in and provide feedback for process improvement.
Administer and manage systems and databases as they pertain to the role.
Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better to drive greater efficiencies, Minimum Qualifications A Bachelors degree in Planning, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience, with 3-5 years of experience.
The candidate would ideally have experience in programmatic construction work.
Experience in multisource customer-facing roles within an organization.
Technical understanding of the work being planned and managed.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and administrative skills.
Microsoft Office and strong systems usage experience.
