The Data Science Intern will be part of Experian's Global Software Solutions organization concentrating on research and development of novel analytical solutions, new product prototyping, as well as new data asset evaluation and acquisition.
This position requires extensive background and knowledge in machine learning and data mining.
Previous experience in analyzing large datasets and developing data driven statistical models is desirable.
Experience in cloud computing in AWS is a plus.
Responsibilities of the Data Science Intern include:
Analyzing, processing, evaluating, and documenting large data setsIdentify/develop appropriate machine learning/data mining/text mining techniques to uncover the value of the dataDesigning data structure and data storage schemes for efficient data manipulation and information retrievalDeveloping tools for data processing and information retrievalDeveloping data driven models to quantify the value of a given data setApplying, modifying, and inventing algorithms to solve challenging business problemsDocumenting and presenting model process and model performanceQualifications Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Applied Math, or other quantitative fieldsBe returning to school in the Fall of 2024 to complete degree program0-3 years of working experience in analytics, data mining, and/or predictive modelingDemonstrated ability to lead and execute projects from start to finishAbility to independently support existing productsProven track record in modifying and applying advanced algorithms to address practical problemsExperience with Regression, Neural Network, Gradient Boosting Frameworks, and/or Ensemble MethodsProven ability to work independently on development of complex models with extremely large and complex data structuresProficient in more than one of Python, Spark or ScalaRobust knowledge and experience with statistical methodsAdditional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.

The base pay range for this position is listed above.
Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and education.
This position is also eligible for a variable pay opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off including paid parental and family care leave, an employee stock purchase plan and a 401(k) plan with a company match.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
